![]() ![]() Who is behind WeTransfer Bas Beerens is the founder of WeTransfer. The company was founded in 2009 in Amsterdam by Rinke Visser, Bas Beerens and Nalden. He has been interviewed and profiled by titles including T he Verge, Artsy, Business Insider, Fast Company, The Times, Forbes, Mr. WeTransfer is an internet-based computer file transfer service based in the Netherlands. He is an outspoken advocate for online trust, art patronage and human values in business.ĭamian is a highly-regarded speaker on the topics including innovation, education and the arts. This was WeTransfer’s first acquisition of an American company and it marked the second major step in the organization’s expansion into the United States.ĭamian’s professional and cultural interests include art and the role of creativity within organizations, doubt – as part of the creative and commercial process – and how ambiverts thrive in a collaborative professional world. In 2018, WeTransfer acquired popular apps Paper® and PasteTM from FiftyThree Inc. In 2015, the company took its first round of investment (series-A of $25million by HCPE), and Damian moved to LA the following year to spearhead the company’s US operations. After graduating, he worked in design and advertising, going on to create the award-winning design and innovation studio, Present Plus.ĭamian was one of the founding partners of WeTransfer. A graduate of the London School of Economics, Damian funded his degree working for Stella McCartney and fly-posting for Alexander McQueen.
